Job Title: Kitchen Helper

Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Job Overview:

The Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen team by performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen. This includes food prep, dishwashing, cleaning, and assisting with kitchen organization. The role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation Support:
• Assist in chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and preparing basic ingredients for cooking.
• Help with portioning and packaging food as directed by chefs.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing:
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen and storage areas.
• Stock Maintenance:
• Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing food supplies.
• Ensure ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated for freshness.
• Assist Chefs and Kitchen Staff:
• Help chefs with simple cooking tasks, such as stirring, mixing, or assembling dishes.
• Support kitchen staff in organizing and maintaining their workspace.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
• Health & Safety:
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations to minimize accidents and contamination risks.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions carefully and keep work areas organized.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work in a timely manner.
• Physical Stamina: The role may require long hours on your feet and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and chefs.
• Basic Kitchen Knowledge: Understanding of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen tools is helpful but not necessary for entry-level positions.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but not required.
• Certifications: Food handling or safety certifications may be required in some locations.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED1,200.00 per month
